Recognise this colour? What thoughts come to mind? Before I share why it became my source of motivation as an new entrepreneur, let's explore this interesting hue.

Meet Brat Green, a bold, neon shade of green that is unapologetically unique. Popularised by Charli XCX's album cover for "Brat," this colour derives its name from the album. Brat Green is a recent invention. it's not a physical colour like verdant, phthalo, or cobalt green, which were created through chemical processes used by artist for centuries, Brat Green wasn't mixed on a palette but was invented digitally crafted through careful pixel selection.

What truly amazes me is how we take unique colours like Brat Green and Barbie Pink  born digitally for granted. They're so easily produced with a simple click, but translating them into the physical world requires countless hours of labor using natural, chemical, and other materials. Why? Digital colours are light emitted by pixels . Physical colours we see are surfaces that first absorb light and then reflect them. So to produce the same shade and effect of the digital colour, one needs to put in hours of high end labour to achieve it.

When I learned about the journey of this vibrant colour from the digital realm to fashion, jewelry, decor, and more, it sparked a flurry of thoughts. Why did this colour, despite its physical challenges, become an inspiration for artists everywhere? What is the colour psychology behind it? And why is it so relevant for today?

This colour stands out and demands attention. In today's world, being unique or uncommon has become commonplace. So how can we truly stand out from the crowd? How can we become unique, empowered, and inspiring? The answer lies in authenticity. By embracing and expressing our true selves, we can inspire others to do the same. For years, I felt like a mirror, reflecting the expectations and desires of others instead of my own authentic self. I was searching for an inspiration, something that would allow me to shine brightly without the fear of judgment. Brat Green, with its bold, neon shade, captivated me. Its vibrant energy mirrored the exhilarating yet often tumultuous process of self-discovery that I had embarked on.

Many of us find our inspiration on the digital space. Unlike how craftsmen quickly got into accepting the challenge to recreate their brat green inspiration into physical objects, we… add layers to delay ourselves. We distance ourselves from re-creating it fearing the uncertainty of what we will arrive at. We worry of being a copy and of social judgement. We even question the genuinity of our inspiration. This is where I want you to remember Brat Green. A physically unreal colour made a movement for self-expression in the same physical world only because skilled craftsmen believed in their inspiration and portrayed it with their authentic self-expression. This is power of authenticity I want you to embody. And when you do, the future may be uncertain, but you'll undoubtedly feel empowered, rejoicing your journey and most certainly will not be a copy of your own inspiration.
